movie post

ok, here's what i haven't been blogging about:

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, 1984
Murderball, 2005
Network, 1976
The N Word, 2004
Manhattan, 1979
Funny Face, 1957
Queer as Folk: Season 1: Disc 4, 2001
Howard Zinn: You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train, 2004
Victor / Victoria, 1982
The Station Agent, 2003
The Music Man, 1962
Bambi: Platinum Edition, 1942

and more recently:

kinsey (the pbs documentary) 2004
riding in cars with boys 2001

i promise to answer any and all questions about any of the above movies but i'm not going to talk much about them here. let me just say in defense of watching bambi that my mom wouldn't let me watch it when i was little. and then i got too old to watch it... anyway, wow, i'm so glad i didn't watch it when i was little, i had to apologize to her for teasing her for all these years about it. there's a lot of violence and scariness. and i'm a total sap, but i got upset when his mom died. wow, i can't believe the one i talked about was bambi.

i watched the documentary about kinsey after having watched the recent movie, and the movie got surprisingly few things wrong. kinsey was such an incredible man, he was using phrases like sexual freedom in the THIRTIES. visionary! i'm going to read about him when i can. also i'll catch up on all that really important feminist theory that's a gaping whole in my education. oh, i do miss reading...

now some about the headache. see how i switched up the order? these innovations are how i keep you coming back. so i'm finally stopping to feel the effects of
abilify, which is excellent. i'm eating more, and i'm clearheaded for what feels like the first time in forever. and i'm feeling probably way too optimistic about my chances of doing well on another drug. but it's keeping me happy, so why not. just sort of anxiously happy. look for another post tonight (probably).
